After  a history winning season with the Pittsburgh Pirates, Clint Hurdle deserving won the Manager of the year. Clinton joined the Pirates in 2010 and made a promise to the city of Pittsburgh and his team that within 2 years he would end the losing streak and he did just that.

In a TV interview Hurdle said, “Players play, and they took ownership of the clubhouse, they took ownership of the field. All I tried to do every day was, yes, be positive, and it is challenging to do that. But I needed to model behavior that I wanted them to emulate and take on. I believe that happened throughout the year.”

The Pirates team also responded to him well as they shared that he stayed positive and kept a positive atmosphere.

“He’s very optimistic, and that’s a big key,” said McCutchen, who is favored to win NL MVP honors. “It’s hard to be as optimistic and as positive as he always is every single day.”

So, congratulations to Hurdle of winning manager of the year and good luck to another winning season in 2014.
