Shelle Knows: Guess Who’s Back??

Hellooooo Shelle Knows Readers!

me

I am back! I know I know, I have been away for a while now and not on purpose but life just got so busy I had to make sure I stayed on track. So let’s see what’s new. As of January 15th I started my Masters of Science in Management and I am currently passing in my 5th class now. Five down and hopefully only five more to go before I have my Masters in Management. I decided to take this road toward my master because I always wanted to go into Sports Management and I figured I needed some classes to enhance my knowledge and skills. So if you every feel as if you want to grow and the opportunities are not jumping at you as you would like then re-evaluate yourself and see what you think is missing that you could add to in order to become more marketable.(this was not a plug in tell you all to get some sort of plastic surgery either) Just saying lol.

So as I have been busy with working and going back to school I have also been testing the waters of event planning. I had the opportunity to not only be in 2 of my best friends weddings these past couple of weeks but I also had the opportunity in helping plan one of the weddings. It allowed me to see how far I could actually take my business. I will share some pictures below so you can see some of the arrangement I made for the wedding. I have to say they turned out beautifully!!

Now that summer is here I have had the opportunity to take a couple vacations so far but I am looking most forward to going back to Vegas for the 4th of July. A couple of friends and I have decided that we were going to take a break from business and let our hair down for once. We are constantly planning, working and making sure everything is in order that we just wanted a care free weekend with just the girls. Do not worry I will make sure I have enough fun for all of you as well.

Once all that is done it is back to grind time where I will be blogging about football camps, rumor reports of course, and the latest news in the sports world while continuing my Master and working full time. I have goals to reach and dreams to make come true so its GRIND TIME HUNNY!

Shelle Knows : Steelers Slip To Third In The AFC Northern Division

image

Look at how fast the tables can turn. Steeler fans watched thre their team slip out of the number one spot down to the third behind the Cincinnati Bengals at second and the Cleveland Browns at the number one spot.
The New York Jets who came into today’s game being one and eight, broke their losing streak by beating the Steelers who were six and three. The Steelers came into this game on a high as they beat their last two components by more than two possessions. Some would say that the Steelers are as only as good as their components and from the looks of these last couple of games they may be right.
In today’s game against the Jets the Steelers just couldn’t seem to get into a tempo. Ben Roethlisberger had two interceptions, Antonio Brown had two fumbles and the Jets defense capitalized on the three of the four turnovers. Also the Steelers defense did not show up today as they did in the previous three games.
Needless to say it wasn’t that the Jets were playing that good, it was that the Steelers shot themselves in the foot.
Now that that tragedy is ovet, the Steelers have to find a way to win out the rest of the season to keep in good standing for the playoffs.
As of now the Cleveland Browns are in the number one spot. The Cincinnati Bengals are in the number twospot. The Steelers are hanging in the number 3 spot and the Baltimore Ravens are down in the number 4 spot.
Stay tuned because a lot can change in a week.

Shelle Knows: Steelers Fans Monday Blues

image

Here we go again. Just when we thought the Steelers found their mojo they lose it. Coming off of last weeks win against the Panthers on the road, I am sure the Steelers fans thought they were on the right track. Especially since they were facing the Tampa Bay Buccaneers who happens to have the worst record in the NFL. This is the same team who was embarrassed on Thursday Night Football last week against the Atlanta Falcons.
So you would think that the Steelers would be able to take on the Buccs no problem right?
Well the game was a great game as Antonio Brown scored twice along with a touchdown from Heath Miller. Even with that the Buccs were still lurking close behind. I am sure the multiple 15yard penalties and missed kick gave the Buccs some room for a comeback. With the score at 24-20 with 54 seconds left on the clock, the Buccs had the ball after a short punt return.
The Buccs ran over the Steelers defense and scored leaving the Steelers with 7seconds on the clock.
At this moment every Steelers fan new this was the end of the game. Instead of going for a hail marry, the Steelers decided to play hopscotch with the football and ended the game with a Big Ben sack.

This left every fan in disbelief as to how you can be winning the whole game and lose it all with 54 seconds left against the worst team in the NFL.
Then here comes the Monday Steelers blues in the city. The office is quiet. There is an unspoken attitude that everyone has but tries not to show unless provoked. It is kind of hilarious how Pitt and the Pirates could lose but the city will only catch the blues when the Steelers lose.
So now it is time to do the blame game. Is the loss in result of the injuries of Ike Taylor and Jarvis Jones? Being that Harrison came back to cover Jarvis Jones absent, I do not feel that is to blame. Maybe it was the defense in all. There seems to be a desperate need of defensive backs and corners. Or is it Todd Hailey’s, the offensive coordinator, fault for the plays that were called at the end of the game? Will Mike Tomlin get blamed as well just for being the head coach?
Whatever the problem is I hope they make a drastic adjustment before next week game or the whole city of Pittsburgh might go on suicide watch (jokes people).

Shelle Knows: Jay Z and Rihanna Take Over Thursday Night Football Theme Song

Looks like Jay Z and Rihanna’s song “Run This Town” will be the new Thursday Night Football theme song.

” This open combine’s one of music’s biggest stars with one of the most dynamic actors in Hollywood,” CBS Sports creative director Pete Radovich shared. “The energy that both talents provide gives the opening to every Thursday night the big-game, primetime feel it deserves. It is a dream scenario for any director.”

The football season open’s tonight with the defending champs, Seattle Seahawks, against the Green Bay Packers.

Shelle Knows Personal Blog: Consistency and Communication Duhhhhh

Don’t you hate when you meet someone new who you are actually attracted to but never get to actually know. Let me explain. My friends and I seem to deal with this a lot.( Kinda sounds pitiful Yikes!) So this is what made me come to the assumption that this is how it is.

You come across a guy or gal who seems to spark you interest. At that moment you exchange laughs, touches and of course numbers. (If you do not get the number then you never had a chance) Anyways, from that point you begin to text one another to get to know each other. The first time texting is usually the best of times. You do the same old “get to know you questions.” The texts are exchanged quickly and everyone is happy. This stage might last for the first couple of days. You can never be too sure though. As the days pass then so does the communication with each other. See with me, I will not continue to text you first because I need to see if you actually think enough about me to keep me interested. If you do not then I know not to waste my time with you. Here is where the consistency comes into play.

Is it that hard to be consistent if you claim you are interested? A phone call, a text, a simple hey just thinking of you can keep someone interested. But no, that’s not how it always goes right. Instead things get confusing and awkward as to if you should even still try to talk to this person. Consistency and Communication work hand in hand. There really isn’t any scientific method to do either it is just the matter of DOING IT.

How can someone get to know a person who doesn’t have a consistent conversation with the other? How will you know the persons likes, dislikes and uniqueness if all you all can get to is “WYD” “How you doing” and That’s cool.” There is no substance in that conversation. Where is the Introduction Body and Conclusion? Yes this just doesn’t apply to writing an essay but in everything that needs structure. Like communication.

Let’s make this simple. If you are interested in someone talk to them daily. Show them that talking to them isn’t a waste of time and say more than WYD. Start a conversation with substance and let it take its course from there.

Now if you choose to take the non-consistent route then I’m pretty sure you will lose the attention of someone OR you will get someone who is crazy. They may not have been crazy at first but your lack of consistency has turned them crazy and now they are constantly trying to get your attention. Then you are stuck with a crazy guy or gal which you definitely deserve at this point.

If you are reading this and thinking hmmm maybe I should text him or her, then DO IT. Because they are probably sitting there wondering if this situation YALL are in will get anywhere. And to those of you who just got the number for “late night pleasure” then let that be known because it will save you a lot of annoying conversation and wasted time because there is nothing worse than 2 people on 2 different pages. Ya know!

So remember Consistency and Communication. It’s Just that SIMPLE.

Shelle Knows: The NFL Has Gone Soft

Is football still a sport? Honestly with the changes that have been made in the past couple of years the game of football has basically turned into flag football. There have been rule changes in regards to hitting but they have also changed the celebration rules.

I understand in some matters that you have to instill rules to protect the players physically but to take away the celebration moves from the game is ridiculous. The point of removing select motions is to prevent a player from taunting one another and delay of game. Seriously if you are playing a game of football and your feelings get hurt because someone celebrated then this sport is not for you.

Football used to be the toughest, hard hitting sport that only a manly man could play. Now I think a little league softball game may be tougher. At least a player can take a hit by a ball without being fined. Where as in the NFL is a player turns to hit the wrong way the NFL will fine you half their pay and or suspend the player.

It is just frustrating watching a game at a professional level and we see more yellow flags thrown than bodies.

I can imagine how frustrating it is to a player that worked his whole life to learn how to hit hard and tackle to become afraid to hit a player in fear of being fined for what he was trained to do in the first place. I say the NFL needs to stop being so money hungry and let the game of football go back to its original domain.

Football is no longer entertaining mainly because of the unsportsmanlike conduct rule.  Everyone likes to see players get excited when they have made a great play or scored a touchdown. Now it is more like strictly business on the football field than actually having fun.

Below you can read the new rule for this season.
